#Craftyrox, Sewing for Girls

Fat Quarter Skirt Blog Tour

Thread Riding Hood recently released the Fat Quarter Skirt, a great solution for all those fat quarters you have been hoarding. I know I have way too many of those floating around and I do not even consider myself to be a quilter. I’m just addicted to those often beautifully coordinated bundles of fabric tied off with a ribbon or string.

For my Fat Quarter Skirt I used two Art Gallery fat quarters from a bundle that I obtained from a giveaway win. I tried explaining to both of my kids what the cassette tapes on the skirt were for. With the word “tape” being used they convinced themselves that you can record things onto transparent tape. I’m guessing if the dispenser I have for pattern taping vanishes anytime soon, the kids have opened a recording studio.

The pattern is for sizes 2-6 and makes a great starter project or stash buster. I can see myself letting Pen have a crack at this project in a year or two. Seb I’m sure would love sewing one too. If you are experienced at sewing, I bet you will spend more time selecting the perfect fabric combination than making the skirt!

She is growing up so fast and I love the skirt. I love when I can make projects with fat quarters.

Question #1: Can I keep her?
Question #2: Will you be sure to take photos when they create their tape dispenser recording studio? I need to watch this happen.
